TOPICS: Today’s episode features Carlton and Jim talking about cycle helmets. This was a tweet in response to this Forbes article, “I Do Not Wear A Helmet.” (In fact, he does.)

In 2005, BikeBiz reported that three US dental associations called for mandatory use not just of cycle helmets to protect against facial injuries but also mouthguards. “The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Orthodontists advocate the use of mouth guards for children and adults when cycling,” said a joint press release at the time.
